LOUISIANA ENERGY EXPORT PARTNERS
About Us
Louisiana Energy Export Partners (LEEP) supports the thousands of Louisiana energy workers who use our region’s natural resources to help improve our state’s economy and our world’s environment.
Special interest opposition groups continuously promote a false narrative that surrounding communities do not support these projects. This, quite simply, is not true. There are pockets of dissension across parts of the country and across limited parts of our state. However, polls continue to show the majority of Americans support the expansion of our energy industry and believe it is an essential part of our state and country’s future.
LA ENERGY FACTS
- The U.S. Department of Energy estimates the energy industry employs nearly 150,000 Louisianans or over 8% of the state’s population
- The Pelican State is the third largest producer of natural gas, and accounts for nearly 9% of all production in the U.S.
- In 2021, Louisiana shipped 52% of the nation’s LNG exports.
- Due to supply chain challenges and Russia’s energy dominance, Europe turned toward the U.S. for energy. According to the EIA, Europe is now the primary destination for U.S. LNG, accounting for 64% of exports.
